Ballroom for Youth & Teens
Pre-Ballroom
Here children ages 5-7 begin learning two main Ballroom dances, Foxtrot and Swing. Students will develop an understanding of dance vocabulary, basic musical concepts, and confidence through playing games focused on expression and partnership.
Sessions run monthly at 4 weeks or in a Semester at 10 weeks at a time. Spring Semester begins April 8th.
Class Options are:
Saturdays 11am-11:40am
Dancing is a discipline, but it is also a social skill for life. We focus on the necessary techniques to begin a lifelong enjoyment of the given dance styles, but also place an emphasis on social graces, bodily autonomy, musical understanding, communication and creativity. All content is part of a standardized syllabus that can follow students as they continue classes throughout their life.
Youth Ballroom
Here children ages 8-12 begin learning the structures of 4 main Ballroom Smooth & Latin dances, including Waltz, Foxtrot, Swing, and Salsa. Students attend as individuals and rotate partners in a group class format. Dancing is a discipline, but it is also a social skill for life. Mondays 9:30am-10:15am
Tuesdays 5pm-5:45pm
Thursdays 5pm-5:45pm
Private lessons are available at any stage upon request.
Teen Ballroom
Ages 13-17 begin learning the structures of 6 main Ballroom Smooth & Latin dances, including Waltz, Foxtrot, Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing, Salsa, and Bachata. Students attend as individuals and rotate partners in a group class format. They can choose from a Variety, Smooth, Latin, or Rhythm focus.
Smooth- Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Country
Latin- Salsa, Bachata, Rumba, ChaCha
Rhythm- Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing, Hustle, NightClub
